Pony was established in 1980 by Craig Cambronne, Luke Java, Tim Java, and Steve Wilson in a practice space at Tim and Luke's parents' home in Trade Lake, WI. Initially, Luke and Steve were part of the Frederic Swing Choir's rhythm section, while Craig was a skilled guitarist. Tim brought a wealth of experience from his time with the Java Trio and various bands nationwide. After a few practice sessions, they found their groove: Craig on guitar, Tim on drums, Steve on bass, and Luke handling lead vocals and frontman duties. Tim's expertise guided the band in creating a setlist and preparing for live performances, often rehearsing in the old Frederic High School band room. Following a few successful years, they took separate paths and pursued solo musical careers for over three decades, coming together occasionally for reunion jams. In 2012, the group reformed, with Luke back on drums and Tim overseeing sound production. Pony now relishes playing several shows annually and enjoying their camaraderie.
